Federal Travel Assistant | Talent Pool – Washington, DC
BA Global Talent is building a talent pool of experienced Federal Travel Assistants and Travel Operations professionals for current and future opportunities supporting U.S. Federal Government agencies and Federal contracting environments in the Washington, DC area.
This talent pool is intended for professionals with hands-on experience supporting official Government travel operations, particularly within Federal agencies, Government contractors, or similarly regulated environments.
Ideal candidates will have experience managing domestic and international travel, travel authorizations and vouchers, Government travel charge cards, expense reconciliation, and compliance with the Federal Travel Regulation (FTR).

Responsibilities:
Depending on the assignment, responsibilities may include:
Support domestic and international Government travel, including travel authorizations, vouchers, amendments, and related documentation.
Prepare, review, and process travel documentation in accordance with Federal policies and procedures.
Support Government Travel Charge Card (GTCC) processes and review expenses, receipts, and supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance.
Reconcile travel expenses and transactions, identify discrepancies, and coordinate resolution of outstanding items.
Review travel authorizations and vouchers for completeness, accuracy, proper documentation, and allowable expenses.
Provide professional guidance and customer support to travelers regarding travel procedures, reimbursements, vouchers, allowable expenses, and travel-card requirements.
Maintain travel reports, reconciliation records, trackers, and other administrative documentation.
Coordinate with Travel Management Companies (TMCs), travel agencies, card providers, financial teams, auditors, and Government stakeholders.
Assist with the resolution of rejected vouchers, travel-card discrepancies, reimbursement questions, and other travel-related issues.
Ensure travel activities and documentation comply with the Federal Travel Regulation (FTR) and other applicable Federal Government travel policies.
Maintain accurate records while appropriately handling sensitive financial, travel, and personally identifiable information.
Qualifications:
Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) when required by the applicable Federal contract. Temporary visa sponsorship may not be available for these opportunities.
Ability to qualify for and maintain any required Federal background investigation, suitability determination, or Public Trust clearance.
At least 3 years of progressively responsible experience supporting official travel, travel authorizations, vouchers, Government travel charge-card programs, expense reimbursement, travel reconciliation, or similar travel-management functions.
Approximately 4+ years of overall professional experience in travel administration, Government administration, financial operations, executive support, or a related field is preferred.
Recent Federal agency, Federal Government, or Federal contractor travel experience is strongly preferred and will be prioritized.
Strong working knowledge of the Federal Travel Regulation (FTR) and Federal Government travel requirements is highly preferred.
Hands-on experience with Government travel-card and voucher processes, including documentation review, reconciliation, and issue resolution, is highly preferred.
Experience supporting both official domestic and international travel is preferred.
Experience using Government travel systems, travel-management platforms, expense-management systems, and/or financial systems.
Experience coordinating with Travel Management Companies, travel agencies, Government travel-card providers, financial teams, and/or auditors is preferred.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for reconciliation, reporting, tracking, and record management.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide professional and responsive support to travelers, executives, Government personnel, and other stakeholders.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills when reviewing travel, financial, and compliance-related documentation.
Ability to manage multiple travel requests, deadlines, reimbursements, and administrative priorities simultaneously.
Ability to handle sensitive financial, travel, and personally identifiable information with discretion and confidentiality.
Location: Washington, DC / Washington Metropolitan Area
Work Arrangement: Primarily on-site,
Schedule: Typically Monday–Friday during standard Federal business hours
Contract Duration: May include short-term assignments, one-year contracts, and multi-year Federal contracts with option periods
