BA Global Talent is seeking a highly skilled on-site Systems Administrator in Tallahassee, FL, to join the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), Office of Information Technology (OIT). This position serves within the Office of Information Technology (OIT) to provide comprehensive coordination, delivery, and adoption strategies for IT-focused work efforts. The successful candidate will drive change engagement and readiness, ensuring that people, processes, and technology are aligned across enterprise system implementations, cloud migrations, and digital transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities:
Infrastructure & Cloud Management: Support, expand, and monitor FDOT infrastructure, applications, and cloud environments (AWS, Azure) to ensure optimal performance, security, and availability.
Server & Network Administration: Configure, tune, and administer servers while evaluating network performance, policies, connections, and firewalls. Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for upgrades and issue resolution.
DevOps & Automation: Create, configure, and manage Azure DevOps projects, pipelines, and git repositories to refactor solutions for better efficiency.
Technical Leadership: Support developers and IT staff, building relationships in a matrixed environment and taking ownership of complex technical issues to drive business goals.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or technical institute degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another closely related field; or an equivalent combination of education and professional work experience.
A minimum of 5–8 years of professional experience specifically focused on information systems engineering or a related discipline.
3–5 years of applied IT work experience in infrastructure and network environments, directly encompassing systems operations, support, maintenance, and administration.
Cloud & Network Engineering Requirements:
2–3 years of strong professional experience operating within and administering AWS cloud systems.
2–3 years of specialized experience in network communications, including a deep understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, Samba/CIFS file sharing, and advanced NTFS permissions.
Demonstrated proficiency in core networking principles and modern, cloud-based network architectures.
Server Administration Requirements:
2–3 years of dedicated experience configuring and managing Microsoft Server environments, specifically versions 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, and 2022.
2–3 years of hands-on experience with IIS Administration.
In-depth, functional knowledge of Microsoft Server products.
In-depth knowledge of Linux platforms, specifically Redhat and Ubuntu, backed by a strong grasp of overall Linux administration and patching protocols.
Operational Skills:
Strong analytical skills leveraged to determine organizational needs, develop targeted technical strategies, and evaluate overall effectiveness.
Proven ability to efficiently troubleshoot and diagnose systemic problems across disparate technology platforms.
Demonstrated ability to effectively document procedures and build automations for routine administrative tasks to reduce manual effort.
Highly Desired Qualifications:
Additional Cloud Expertise: 2–3 years of professional experience with Microsoft Azure, GCP, and Microsoft software administration.
Middleware: 3–5 years of experience supporting middleware, including API Management, IT Service Automation tools, and batch job services.
On-Site: Tallahassee, FL
Schedule: Flexible hours between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM ET, with possible after-hours, weekends, rotation, or on-call schedule
