DevOps Engineer, Terraform (Maryland, USA)
BA Global Talent is seeking a DevOps Engineer with a strong specialization in Terraform to perform on-site in Maryland and join the Department of Navy (DON) SAP IT program. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable infrastructure solutions using Terraform, ensuring efficient deployment and management of resources across various cloud environments. A deep understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and practices is essential for this role. While the primary focus will be on Terraform, we also value a strong working knowledge of Ansible to automate configuration management and streamline operational tasks.
The Department of Navy (DON) SAP IT program protects highly sensitive national security information. These programs utilize rigorous security measures and need-to-know access to safeguard vital technological breakthroughs, intelligence on U.S. capabilities, and operational plans.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure infrastructure solutions using Terraform across multiple cloud environments.
- Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to ensure consistency, efficiency, and version control in infrastructure deployment.
- Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to enhance system reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize infrastructure performance and cost efficiency.
- Maintain documentation of infrastructure design, processes, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Navy (DON) security standards and best practices.
- Participate in system audits, reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI clearance is required.
- Must have a current DoD 8570.1-M IAT Level III certification
- Proven experience in software engineering and integration of Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) software products
- Strong hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure automation and provisioning.
- Strong working knowledge of Ansible for configuration management and deployment automation is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team.
