Tool Maker
BA Global Talent is looking for a qualified Tool Maker (on-site) for a company that manufactures aluminum molds used to make plastic products. This role is integral in producing high-quality molds to customers’ standards. This position requires great manual dexterity and technical knowledge to be able to work with a variety of materials, tools, and machinery in the production of aluminum molds and steel cutting.

Responsibilities:
- Analyzes specifications from CAD models, blueprints, sketches, or tool descriptions, and organizes the sequence of operations for construction.
- Operates tool room equipment at a high level of competency, including but not limited to CNC mills, manual mills, manual lathes, drill presses, and a variety of hand tools.
- Troubleshoot and repair a variety of stages of tooling.
- Plans, constructs, and repairs a variety of tools, dies, jigs, gauges, and fixtures to close tolerances.
- Disassembles and assembles molds using hand tools.
- Inspects completed tools and dies for signs of imperfections or damage that may affect the functionality.
- Evaluate blueprints of products and molds to affect the construction or repair of components, applying knowledge of shop mathematics.
- Regularly tests all equipment, tools, and machines to ensure they are arranged and set properly and working efficiently.
- May guide lower-level toolmakers.
Requirements:
- 5 years of experience in similar roles
- Proficient with measuring instruments such as tape measures, micrometers, calipers, rulers, scribes, and geometric dimensions and tolerances.
- Knowledge/experience with Pro E, Work NC, and Power Mill by Autodesk or related CAD/CAM software
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy and precision throughout the machining process.
- Good communication with the ability to work as part of a team and collaborate effectively with engineers, mold makers, and other staff.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise.
